The Department
The Development Department currently raises £3.5 million a year in private support from patrons and major donors, corporate sponsors and trusts and foundations. We are building on this success and have ambitious targets in the years ahead.

 

The Role

The Individual Giving & Campaigns Manager reports to the Head of Individual Giving & Major Gifts. The primary responsibility is raising unrestricted income for Sadler’s Wells. This role ensures income and recruitment targets are met. Developing annual individual giving schemes and campaigns.

It is the Individual Giving & Campaigns Manager that will steward each scheme effectively. Working to achieve positive gains and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Together with the Head of Individual Giving & Major Gifts, oversee the Members and Patrons schemes, assessing and reorganising levels when necessary, and ensuring ROI.

  • Member and Patron recruitment – plan and deliver prospecting and cultivation activities to meet recruitment targets. Strategies to include targeted marketing to the Sadler’s Wells database, working with the Board of Trustees, Development Council and senior staff, and undertaking research as required to identify and secure new Members and Patrons.

  • Member and Patron cultivation and stewardship – manage and maintain a portfolio of key relationships through meeting supporters and coordinating meetings with senior staff and Trustees. Oversee events calendar relating to Individual Giving and keep accurate records of donor contact with Sadler’s Wells. With the support of the Members & Patrons Officer, plan additional asks and stewardship activities based on their interests.

  • Member and Patron process – oversee the day-to-day work of the Members & Patrons Officer and the Membership & Events Coordinator to ensure that stewardship and administration runs smoothly, including renewals, Direct Debit and Continuous Authority processes, extra gifts and delivery of benefits. Ensure that records on the CRM database, Tessitura, are accurate and that income, pledges and asks are recorded. 

  • Lead on Sadler’s Wells’ public appeals and strategies for giving at Sadler’s Wells venues and online, including ticket donations. 

  • Lead Sadler’s Wells’ legacy fundraising, including through communications campaigns, events and dedicated recruitment campaigns. 

  • Line management and development of the Members & Patrons Officer and the Membership & Events Coordinator, including carrying out annual reviews and objective setting. 

  • Financial reporting and forecasting - manage the finances relating to the Members and Patrons annual giving schemes and campaigns, including associated Gift Aid returns and administration, working closely with the Head of Individual Giving & Major Gifts in setting and tracking targets for growth, retention and tracking expenditure. 

  • Be first point of contact for all Legacy enquiries and gifts.
