Introduction

Carers UK is the leading national charity for unpaid carers. Our support, advice, information and campaigning work are needed now more than ever, as unpaid carers are providing more and more care, adversely impacting on their own health and wellbeing.

This is a pivotal time for working carers as the Carer’s Leave Act has become law, making it a statutory requirement for all employers to support unpaid carers by giving five days unpaid carers leave.

Our exemplar best practice employer forum, Employers for Carers (EfC), is best placed to help businesses with this change in legislation by creating carer friendly workplaces through policy and practice.

We are seeking a new Account Executive to help grow the membership of Employers for Carers at this exciting time. This is an income generating role as part of Carers UK earned income stream and sits within the Income Generation and Communication directorate.

The Account Executive will:
•    Research, identify and prospect corporate businesses for new business sales
•    Liaise with and provide support to existing clients, grow client prospects, and assist relationship building through active client engagement.
•    Provide related events, communications and administrative support.

Diversity and inclusion

Carers UK is committed to becoming a diverse and truly inclusive organisation. We strive to create a workplace where our colleagues and volunteers can truly be themselves and feel like they belong and constantly seek to ensure all voices are heard.

To embrace this culture of diversity, our employee and volunteer recruitment should reflect our stakeholders and the society that we serve and support, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, physical abilities, disabilities or religious practices. We value individual diversity and are actively building diverse teams here at Carers UK and value our colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds.

As a membership charity for carers, we particularly seek employees and volunteers with a real understanding of the issues faced by carers. Reasonable adjustments can be made to the process and role dependent on the needs of the applicant.
